Accomplishments

Since it’s inception in 1999 Check Your Head has:

Organized two conferences on globalization attracting over 400 people.

Facilitated workshops in high schools, colleges and universities on the WTO, genetic engineering in the food industry, and economic globalization.

Consulted with the BC government Youth Options office on designing models for youth participation in provincial youth initiatives.

Designed a survey for young members of the Canadian Auto Workers Union.

Written several articles for the BC Teacher magazine.

Created a children’s story book promoting education as one of the
fundamentals in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Organized buses for the Seattle WTO events.

Coordinated a conference on the WTO in conjunction with the CFS, the
YND and the Sierra Youth Coalition that attracted over 200 people.

Organized a book launch for No Logo.

Provided skills development training for young activists.

Led over 600 workshops and speaking engagements.

Garnered media coverage: CBC Radio, CBC TV, VTV, The Globe and Mail,
The Vancouver Sun, The Courier, The Province.
